Primary: Daniel O’Hare Memorial Trophy Final
Easington Colliery continue their success in this competition
Easington Colliery Primary School’s (Peterlee PSFA) remarkable run in the Daniel O’Hare Memorial Trophy continued when they won the competition for the third time in four seasons.
The other schools participating in the final were:
- Castletown Primary School (Sunderland PSFA)
- Lambton Primary School (Washington PSFA)
- Lumley Junior School (Chester-le-Street PSFA)
In the first block of matches Easington Colliery were comfortable victors over Castletown whilst Lambton narrowly beat Lumley.
Easington Colliery and Lambton continued their success in the next set of matches with wins over Lumley and Castletown respectively.
Before the final round of matches, in which Easington Colliery had to play Lambton, both had a chance of winning the trophy. However, an excellent first half performance from Easington Colliery secured the East Durham school a splendid win. In the other match Lumley, who had been unfortunate in their previous two matches, gained a consolation victory over Castletown.
Easington Colliery will represent DCSFA in the North Region round of the ESFA Danone Nations Schools’ Cup for School Teams.
