Durham gain a much-needed victory

After disappointing results in their previous two matches Durham gained a well earned victory to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the Northern Counties semi-finals.

Durham were first on the scoresheet when Alfie Pearn scored in the 33rd minute.

The visitors lead was short lived as South Yorkshire equalised a minute after the interval.

Durham, however, secured the 3 points with two goals in 5 minutes, just before the final whistle, from Alfie Pearn and James Thompson.

Durham would need to beat both Cleveland and Northumberland, who are currently first and second in the group, to have a chance of making the the semi-finals.
