ESFA U15 GIRLS

Congratulations go to Rebecca Bell (Chester-le-Street, Washington & Derwentside SFA) on her ESFA selection for the 2019 schools' international programme. During February half term Rebecca will attend a training camp. At Easter the ESFA girls' squad will travel to Salou in Spain to participate in the Bob Docherty Trophy playing against Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

CHANGE OF VENUE

As the weather forecast for this Saturday is poor and to ensure the ESFA U18 Inter-county Trophy match against Merseyside has a good chance of going ahead the tie has been switched to a 3G facility. The new venue is Heron Eccles Playing Fields, Abbotshey Avenue, Allerton, Liverpool L18 7JT. The kick remains at 1pm.

Shincliffe Juniors FC are holding football training sessions for those with disability.

These sessions occur on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm at The Graham Sports Centre, Stockton Road, Maiden Castle, Durham DH1 3SE

  • ESFA Rd 2: U16 Girls v South Yorkshire on Tuesday 18 December at The Graham Sports Centre, Maiden Castle, Durham ko 7pm. The winner of this tie will be at home to Lancashire.

ESFA UNDER 12 5-A-SIDE

Local association secretaries are reminded that their respective boys and girls representatives are required by the end of the Autumn Term. Please inform Alan Johnston with the relevant details when known.

County Finals

  • Boys: on Wednesday 9 January 2019 at Louisa Centre, Stanley from 1pm until 3pm
  • Girls: on Wednesday 16 January 2019 at Louisa Centre, Stanley from 1pm until 3pm

ESFA Region A Finals

  • These will be held on Wednesday 6 February 2019 at Soccarena, Durham from 11.30 am until 3pm.

FUTSAL

The recent release of the FA's Futsal Strategy (2018-2024) has impacted upon the proposed structure of DCSFA's competitions. As a result DCSFA has agreed to stage competitions at U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16.

The following deadlines are in place:

  • Friday 15 February 2019: association competitions to be completed
  • Wednesday 27 February 2019: The county finals will take place at the Beacon of Light, Sunderland from 3pm until 6pm.

PRIMARY NEWS

Harrison Cup (08.12.18): Redcar & Cleveland, following their victory over Stockton, remain leaders of the qualifying group. Sunderland, after beating North Tyneside, stay second on goal difference. Both Redcar & Cleveland and Sunderland are assured of a place in the group that will contest for the Harrison Cup. Five teams are in contention for the remaining two Harrison Cup spots.

Derwent & Medomsley Cup (24.11.18): In the first round of the district knock-out competition there were wins for Chester-le-Street, Stockton, Redcar & Cleveland and Newcastle.

ESFA Danone Nations Schools' Cup for Girls: After finishing as runners-up in 2017-18 Easington Colliery Primary School returned to winning ways by regaining the trophy they won in 2015-16 and 2016-17. Three win in 4 seasons, an excellent achievement. Blue Coat CE Junior School (Durham City), for the second time in three seasons, were runners-up.

Easington Colliery will represent DCSFA in the North region round of the competition later in the season.

ESFA Danone Nations Inter-association Trophy: The County round of this competition will take place on Saturday 15 December at Academy of Light, Sunderland FC commencing 1pm. Participating associations are Chester-le-Street, Darlington, Durham City, Sunderland and Washington.

Tony Carter Memorial 5-a-side Trophy: This competition, for district teams, will take place on Saturday 5 January 2019 at Louisa Centre, Stanley commencing 10am. Districts taking part are Chester-le-Street, Darlington, Durham City, North Tyneside, Sunderland and Washington.

NCSFA

EAST LEAGUE

  • U14 Girls: Northumberland head the group on goal difference. (Table at 10.11.18)
  • U16 Girls: Northumberland 5 South Yorkshire 2 -- Northumberland leapfrog South Yorkshire into second place and have the same number of points as Durham but with an inferior goal difference. (Table at 08.12.18)
  • U16 Boys: Cleveland 11 Cumbria 1; Durham 2 North Yorkshire 1; Northumberland 1 South Yorkshire 0 -- Following their fourth victory Northumberland (12 pts) are assured of  a place in the semi-finals. Only Durham , currently second with 9 points from 3 games and Cleveland (3 pts from 3 games) are in contention for the remaining semi-final spot. Durham have to play Northumberland (h) and Cleveland (a). (Table at 08.12.18)
  • U18s: Cleveland 6 Cumbria 4; Durham 4 North Yorkshire 1; Northumberland 4 South Yorkshire 1 -- With 1 game to play Northumberland, after their latest victory are in a verys strong position to qualify for the NCSFA semi-finals. Durham, South Yorkshire and Cleveland are still vying for a place in the semi-finals. (Table at 08.12.18)
