The Leadgate Eden Colliery Cup began as an 11-a-side competition in 1977-78 when entry was restricted to schools with under 70 boys in the 7-11 age group. Since 1999-00 the format has been 7-a-side.

Today the winners of the Leadgate Eden Colliery Cup represent DCSFA in the North Region Final of the ESFA Danone Under 11 Small Schools' Soccer Sevens.

Special Rules

  1. The Competition is played according to the FA Laws for Mini-Soccer (7v7)
  2. Entry is restricted to schools with 100 or less pupils in Key Stage 2, and not more than 30 pupils in Year 6.
  3. Only pupils in Years 5 and 6 are allowed to play.
