  • After leaving Aldershot Ian moved into non-league soccer and played for several clubs in NE England. In 2002 Ian scored a goal in extra time to give Whitley Bay victory in the FA Vase. Ian became player-manager of Whitley Bay in 2004 then manager. He has guided the club to further success in the Vase with the team winning the competition in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Thus Whitley Bay became the first team to win the FA Vase three times in a row.
